Off to Denmark

I am off to Denmark tomorrow for the 1st of 6 3-day singing courses at the Complete Vocal Institute. http://www.completevocalinstitute.com/

I thoroughly recommend their book 'Complete Vocal Technique' by Catherine Sadolin http://www.completevocalinstitute.com/?q=en/Shop - it's a superset of everything else I have read or been taught (though I have had only a very few lessons) on vocal technique, all tied together in a detailed and logical fashion, and really does cover all styles. The book itself is the best explanation, so it you are at all interested then I'd say just get it - you won't regret it.

Just one thing it explains well is why certain words are troublesome at certain pitches with certain vocal 'tones' - a problem that all singers must have wrestled with. Certainly I did, and came up with solutions of my won that worked in some areas, but CVT will explain comprehensively why and show you what your options are to solve the issue. That itself has been pure gold for me, but that's only a small part of the goodies within.

So, when I found out they did courses, I was right onto it. I'd have loved to do the 4-month intensive, but my band(s) would never forgive me if I flitted off to Scandinavia for several months (AGAIN!).
