ROCK-TIL-YOU-DROP (The mature musicians' social network)

Just flicking through the 2009 diary before it gets archived, here are the highlights:-

January - loads of gigs??? That never happens in January. I need a holiday!

February - flew back from Florida, had a hour to learn the set then hit the stage with The Lovedays

March - back on the road with Billy Wears Dresses & also drove myself insane being Musical Director & bassist for a London Show.

April - an awesome gig with Buddy Britten at the 100 club & became a full time member of The Lovedays.

May - The Lovedays play the Cavern, Billy Wears Dressed play the Midlands Festival and the mighty Twist play Leeds Castle. In the studio Billy cracks on with the album and Twist record backing tracks that are used in London Theatres & the O2.

June - The Lovedays play The Water Rats in London and begin the 2nd album. Billy Wears Dresses play The Nore, always a highlight.

July - Lounge On The Farm, Main stage see Billy Wears Dresses on the Saturday, Sunday The Lovedays. Billy also play the Maidstone River Festival.

August - kicks off with a superb gig in Deal with Steve Crispe then a one off reunion with Sneakin' Sally and a blinding Lovedays show at The Lower Bell. I see myself acting on the big screen in a short film then jet off to Scotland for gig....

September - superb gig at The Star the night before I fly to NYC, the release of Space Hopper Summer and I join Allan Crockford's Galileo Seven. Play the last ever Cherries jam!

October - The Lovedays at The Nags Head for the Medway Eyes first birthday, Higher State studios recording with Glen Pragnell's Groovy Uncle, The Lovedays in Ranscombe, shooting a video for Billy Wears Dresses on a freezing cold day and my favourite Billy gigs of the year, both on the same day- (Halloween) at The Canterbury Cricket Ground & The Medway Inn.

November - fly to New York City with The Lovedays to play the Village, come home, score the brass & record them for The Lovedays album, record some tracks with the Galileo Seven and play three gigs in one day.

December - a storming gig with Twist at The White Horse, a packed Christmas Eve with Dean Whale & Sam Jacques at the Jolly Knight & a snowy Billy Wears Dresses Christmas gig at The Walnut Tree.

2010
After a gloomy start to the year things are back to their hectic selves.
Billy Wears Dresses & Lovedays gigs bring some snow free smiles to a frosty face.
I've also done some recording with Allan Crockford (of Prisoners & Solar Flares fame) the results of which are on The Galileo 7 mySpace site http://www.myspace.com/thegalileoseven
We are touring at the end of February in Europe and have some London gigs in March & April. It's a great honour & good fun to work with Allan, along with Viv on keys & Russ on drums. Keep an eye on the Galileo 7 site for more gigs & info.
My word it's nearly February!

A big thankyou to my support team, Sue & Harrison, & much love to you all for letting me do what I do.
Happy New Decade!
