Gigs

Hi guys, in answer to the disappearing venues article.  Yes its getting bad around Staffordshire as well, rising beer prices, and no smoking seems to be the main reasons, and yes i agree, open mic/jam nights are not helping.  Landlords are getting free music, not good. Back in the 70's/80's we used to get a couple of bands, hire a venue and do our own gigs, why not do that again??. There are loads of places that offer room hire.  What about a "Grey Rock" tour, get 3 bands to travel around doing…See More

I've never been able to justify spending loads on gear, so over the years (and there's been plenty of them!), I've developed an eye for good, reasonably priced gear. At the moment, My main bass is a Jazz Bass, with a Squire 5 string as a back-up. These are put through a Laney Richter 300 watt combo. I don't play the 5 string much these days, as I find it physically hard work to play.

And as long as the taxman doesn't come knocking at my door, asking me to pay your taxes, I'm fine with it!!
