I prefer to use indvidual pedals. I find multi effects boards complicated to program. They have too many variables and sound more clinical than stomp boxes.

drinking shreds the voice and fucks up the hearing so these days i try not to drink even the day before. it is hard but the voice will sound better for it. then i reward myself with drinks after the show.
