Hi folks Im a mature R and B (proper R&B) vocalist and harmonica player moving onto the Isle of Wight this summer looking for a band or to form a band of like minded people. Im on the site with some tracks on my profile page. It would be great to hear from you.
Cheers Dave

I'm 51 years old and looking for a new band, preferably acoustic but I'd quite like to do original material, not least because I'm a great lyricist. I've just left one band (at least I think I have, the band seems to have imploded) http://vaccination.bandcamp.com/
Here's a sample of me singing with another band who haven't broken up but don't seem to want to gig (now me I love gigging).

What I have in mind is doing for Americana/Country what Shane McGowan has done for Irish music. I kind of like to call it "Country Punk"
I'm a 42 year old male who wants to find a band interested in what I like. I love to sing, and like music from the 80's - soft rock...
Rock bands include - Switchfoot, Nickleback, 30 seconds to mars, Kane, Jimmy eat world, Bon jovi, 3 Doors down, Sunrise Avenue, Simple plan, Lifehouse, Matchbox 20, The calling, Chris Daughtry, David Cook, Dan reed network, Gun, The mission, Extreme, Journey, Europe, Toto, Inxs....
Other bands include - Kids in glass houses, Stereophonics, Snow patrol, Kings of leon, Killers, Deacon blue, Wet wet wet, Del amitri, Cutting crew, Then jericho....
There's so many good bands out there, but it would be cool to sing some of the songs from my chosen ones. I also want to be involved in a band who want to write and sing their own material. Cover versions are okay, but I want to mix it up with fresh material, so If anyone feels the same as me and fancies a chat then get in touch.
It would be cool to achieve this, so if you're serious, talk to me.

Hi Simon. I'm interested. I've sung around Borough before. Though I live in North London, I work near Waterloo so it's a goer. I'd love it if you PM'd me.

Comment by Simon Davies on January 4, 2011 at 18:02 Hi
Im in an amateur band on the look out for a singer to join the gang. We've been jamming covers and a few originals for the last 6-12months singing has been done by deps or one of us singing. I think we now have a tight ish sound and are comfortable and relaxed - We've all been in other bands Id say this a nice bunch of guys looking for an escape from the daily slog, to make some good music, do some recordings, MySpace and play the odd pub gig and have some beers. The aim isn't to be a working function band or have goals of stardom. But we like to play well and we all do invest time in getting better we have chosen covers to push ourselves i.e. from pop, rock funk, soul, blues etc… we still need to give the originals a push !
We all have day jobs ages 30-50s and have families. You don’t need to be a Marvin, Plant or Aretha … we aren't session cats either ! but you need to be able to sing ok ish and looking for a similar thing - If you play an instrument and or write lyrics/songs - great bring your own thing - or just join in.
If this sounds of interest then please get in contact - if you’ve got a MySpace link or demos, great otherwise tell me a bit about yourself.
Any question - please ask - we will probably do some jams in central or south London; West end or, Borough, Clapham towards the end of Jan or Feb. We've been getting together weekday evening rehearsal twice a month but its all flexible.
Thanks for reading - hope this is of interest
