The pub has a completely separate room out back for music. Raised stage with full PA, lighting, microphones. When you book you also get a sound engineer (£50) for the night. Everything is mic'ed, and sound is through the PA. The room was refurbished earlier this year, and has been done really well. Maximum capacity 100. There is an age restriction - over 18 only for band members and audience. Because of the location it seems we can play until 1am (at least on Saturday night - other nights to be confirmed). We are looking forward to our gig there, but it has gone back to Nov 20th (calendar updated) due to guitarist giving priority to his family (no loyalty eh?)

I like The Star and can often be found supping a pint there. The stage area is well equipped but not acoustically brilliant, too many hard surfaces, but a popular venue for local and not so local bands. Well worth checking out if you are around Guildford.

Anybody want to team up to do this as a gig with us?

We play prog rock and would like to play a reasonably sized venue.
