MUSIC NEWS

When you do finally 'drop', what song would you like played at your funeral?

To all the old dudes,

I have also added this as a profile question for a bit of morbid fun, but I think it'd be interesting as a discussion, which includes your reasons for choosing your particular 'last song'.

It's also a good excuse to get you to try out the new 'Muziic' music player in the main menu.

I have always wanted When The Music's Over by The Doors at my funeral. It's a bit like putting Stairway to Heaven on the jukebox, I know, but I like the idea of those gathered having to sit through the entire 10 minutes of it, or whatever it is. As well as having an appropriate title for a funeral song, it's also my favourite Doors track, and the Doors, which I obsessed about as a teenager, are one of the reasons that I got into this whole mess in the first place.

Here's a link to the song on the Muziic site: http://www.muziic.com/?st=When%20The%20Music%27s%20Over-The%20Do...&si=aZHs2BbHhpk

Cheers, Toby

Let's hear it Mick, Toby
Bruce Springsteen, 'Further On Up The Road"; not the version from The Rising, but the live version he recorded as part of The Seeger Sessions!
Definitely Free - All Right Now.Because you would be,wouldn't you.Plus the fact that it's the greatest rock song ever written IMO.
This one's corny as anything, but I'd quite like Atmosphere by Joy Division (the version with Ian Curtis singing of course) to be played at mine... always assuming I don't get to live forever, which is yet to be confirmed.
As I've said in my profile, I'd prefer the winning entry of the 2065 Eurovision Song Contest :-)
when i depart this motal coil i want stairway to heaven played by MY BAND, if poosible
Highway to hell, what else could you want when you go through the curtains!
"He's Heavy, He Ain't My Brother" sung by the pall bearers as a barbershop quartet (although it would probably take more than four of them to carry me)
It's got to be "Caught Somewhwere In Time". Classic Iron Maiden. Haunting intro as my coffin is rolled down the aisle. And then it kicks off for my burning finish. The title is apt for a funeral, as that's what you are when you kick it.
As I put in my profile I would like that classic song Epitaph by King Crimson or if not how about Return To Sender By Elvis.
Cause of death... at the age of 95, shot by a jealous lover.
