What sorts of deals are you being offered by local music promoters?
Recently my band has been looking to play more regularly. This of course involves dealing with local promoters. Here's a recent 'deal' that I was sent by a promoter round my way. It'd be great to see those you have been offered. Many seem to be trying to disguise what is basically a pay-to-play policy.
Please read carefully all T&C`s below and get back to me asap if you would like to play, you are free to involve other bands.
This is quite a unique chance to bring your own crowd and keep all earnings for yourself it takes a bit of commitment though as we can`t really afford putting bands on stage if they are not going to promote their gig especially if they are to keep almost all revenues for themselves.
Unlike most promoters in London, we are not looking at making any profit from the bands we pick, you`ll have the chance to pre-sell tickets at a reduced price of £4 (Door Price will be £5) and to keep a net 50 % for the first 20 tickets you sell and the whole after that (Due to venue, backline and sound engineering hiring costs, we regret we can`t make it any cheaper; otherwise we would!)
In order to secure the slot you`ll have to collect a minimum of 20 tickets and a maximum of 40 tickets, you`ll have to pay 50% of the first 20 tickets in advance (40 pounds), tickets after the first 20 are free of charge for you we can`t give more than 40 tickets to each band because of venue attendance capacity.
You`ll have to collect tickets at least 2 weeks prior your scheduled gig.
