Michael, I haven't seen it, but I hear it's good. My wife, who grew up in California knows them. I don't think they made much of an impact here, though it might be that I was too busy listening to the ABBA records that my parents kept feeding me, possibly in a desperate attempt to stop me noticing the punk rock movement.

My parents did a similar thing to me. In 1976, my nan had agreed to lend me the £4.50 I needed to see The Who at Charlton, i would be going with friends, one of which had an uncle who lived quite nearby to the gig so we could get a lift from him. My mum got wind of this and stopped my nan lending me the money. Her reason (apart from the fact that I was 14) was that it was a 'festival and there will be drugs there'. My friends went, I stayed at home :o(

In the following few years I went to more festivals and took WAY more drugs than the friends who went to that gig, I often reminded my mum of the irony.
