Hello
Anyone out there who is an owner of an instrument made by Peter Cook.
Peter was based out of West London for some years and was most active in the late 70s early 80s. Notably his instruments were played by John Entwistle of The Who.
I have a Peter Cook custom 6 string and Flat Eric who is on this forum has a Peter Cook twin neck and a Peter Cook Axis bass that I sold him.
Eric is trying to compile a list of Peter Cook instruments and their owners.
If you have one or know someone who has one join this discussion and let us know.
I've also set up a group on RTYD for Peter Cook Owners as well.

The Story Part 1.
I shall start a separate thread for this, with the same content
but as Graham kindly put this up for me, I thought I would add to it.
Any Peter Cook owners aout there, amongst you ageing Rockers???
Peter Cook, is perhaps most famous for building Custom
Basses for John Entwistle and his work on Pete
Townshend's guitars but Peter's Story goes back further.
As a fan of Custom Builders, I have always been facinated
by the instruments they made and one of the earlier builders
of "something a bit different", was Peter Cook.
After several requests, Peter agreed to meet up and discuss
his early life in the music business - as a guitarist in
The Tomcats and how he got into building guitars, through
to his work with John, Gibson, Mighty Mite, Simms Watts
and several other players and manufacturers.
Peter Cook - Guitar Builder
Click on the link above for the first part in a facinating
story, told by Peter, himself.
This documents his early days in the music business, when
he played as a pro musician, long before he took a chisel to wood.
Hope you enjoy it, there will be more to follow, with several
references to John's basses and how they came about.
A very interesting man to talk to.
Cheers. :)
Eric - huge thanks for this - being a fan since I bought the custom and saw one of those firebird twin necks in Andy's on the same day I've always wanted to know more...
He was in a book I stupidly got rid off Rock Hardware by Tony Bacon, might be available via eBay now. It had some pictures of him in the workshop etc.
