Had a nice e.mail from them. "I can offer you a gig at The Comedy in Leicester Sq I need around 20 people in order for me to cover my costs and pay the band but will be happy to put you on if you can get 10+ people at this late notice. If you can get 15+ then I will happily move you up to The Buffalo Bar or 229 for the next show. If you can get 20+ then I will happily movey you up to PUNK on a Saturday night for the next show".
Problem is of course, how do I get people to attend? We are based in Kent and family and friends are not likely to follow us to London, seen us enough times and dont want the hassle! As a newish band we dont have a following....yet, so...thoughts...ideas...or just stick to playing pubs?

Bob, that's London for you. Too many showcase nights where promoters rely on bands to bring people, and if they don't: there's no one there to watch them play, and they won't get another gig. Nicholas who runs DOA is actually a nice bloke but these nights are largely aimed at younger London bands who have friends that actually still go out and support them.
What you want to do is come up to London and play a gig as the guest of a RTYD-associated London band, and invite that band down to Kent to play with you in return. Use the network if you can.
I make it sound so simple, don't I?!!
